Iwo Jima Reenactment

I took these at the huge reenactment just outside of Fredricksburg, Tx. These are not in any particular order by the way.

It was a whole lot of fun. I really wish I had put on some ear plugs, because the action took about three hours each day, Saturday and Sunday. A week later, there was a thunderstorm that came through Austin and I actually had a reaction to the thunder, thinking it was gunfire! Thats just really interesting to me because I never fully understood this reaction by vets.

The whole thing cost about 150,000 dollars. With all the equipment and tanks and bullets and shells... yah, I can believe that.

Most interestingly enough, this took place on some land that I used to play on when I was a kid. I caught my first bass here, and played with the ranchers daughters. We even used to joke that I was going to marry one, and my bro another. Ahh... I love Fredricksburg.
