Has time finally come for The Bitter End?

I was going home from work today, listening to News Radio 590 KLBJ, when they said the Bitter End was on fire. I thought oh no! My favorite brewry in Austin is going up in flames! Well, so i went home, grabbed my camera, and set to the streets. Low and behold, when i arrived i saw mucho smoke, but not really any fire. So, when I tried to turn my camera on, I got a sad little note from it saying that the battery was dead. SHIT! So, i had to come back home, and charge one for fifteen minutes while the fire actually got worse on the news. When I got back there, most of the smoke was gone, but they were still fighting the heat.

I ran out of my quick charge, and then had to go home again to grab the other battery i had started to charge. So then i headed back to take some final shots. Anyway, I am just pissed that I broke a cardnal rule of photojournalism which is REDUNDANCY! Have some shit to back you up you 'tard! Anyway, it's funny because the same thing happened to me when i was in Abilene trying to cover a fire. Yes, fool me twice! I'm an idiot! But still..

The Bitter End. God i hope the smoke damage on the inside is not that bad. I love this place. This truly is one of the best places for micro beer in Austin. Viva la End!

I dont know why either pal.  Posted by Picasa

This is not from rain. This is from thousands of Austinites crying for their perfect draft beer. Posted by Picasa

I was walking over to take a picture of the water that was gushing out the front door of the End, and then these guys take this Chinese dragon of a tube and plug the entrance. It turned out this was a wind tunnel to blow the smoke out the other end of, hem, well the End. Posted by Picasa

Take a picture, it will last longer. I'm really not trying to be funny here, but really. DO take pictures people. Pictures are mere seconds of reality. I like this quote from Robert Doisneau, "you place all the pictures you have ever taken of your life and line them all up in a row. A split second here, a 10/100 of a second there. In the end you end up with mere minutes from a lifetime of memory" well. ... i think thats how it goes... ahhh whatever.Posted by Picasa

Yes lad, tis a sad thing that happened today. Posted by Picasa

Yes. More heavy stuff to protect me from heat. I really do think that today the sun, our source of life on this planet was the firemans worst enemy. Posted by Picasa
